Users
1. Only the Superuser has the necessary privilege to access this screen. This page of the user guide assumes that you are the Superuser.
2. Before anyone in your organisation can use DX Despatch, you need to register them as a User.
3. We have divided Users into different categories, according to the work they perform. We call these categories profiles. A profile determines which screens a User can access.
DX Superuser. Access to all DX Despatch screens.
DX manager. Access to Manifest, Tracking, Reporting and Addresses screens.
DX book only. Access to Courier, Distributions and Addresses screens.
4. For each User, there are some minimum details we need to store. These details are displayed as a table within the Users screen.
Contact name. This is the actual name of the user.
User name. This is the name they will use to login to DX Despatch.
Email address. Although it is not essential for you to let us have details of their email address, it will allow us to send a welcome email to new Users, including details of their User name and Password.
Phone number. It is not essential for us to have details of their telephone number.
Profile. The profile will determine which screens the User has access to.
Password. To protect your organisation and the User, we need a password for each User.
5. To add a new User, type their details into the fields along the bottom row of the table. Some points to take note of:
The User name you select must be unique.
Although we check that an Email address is correctly formatted, checking its accuracy is your responsibility. Please take care with this as getting it wrong will mean that the User does not receive a welcome email. It may also result in an unauthorised individual being given access to DX Despatch. We will not accept any responsibility for the consequences of this.
When you have completed all the fields, click the Add user button. If you have missed out any of the information that we need or if we find other errors, a popup window will display that shows you the errors you need to fix before you can complete the process.
6. To change a User's details, find the row in the table that shows the User's details. You can only change the following fields:
Email address
Phone number
Password
When you have completed the changes you want to make, click the Update button. If errors are found, a popup window will display that shows you the errors you need to fix before you can complete the process.
7. To remove a User, find the row that shows the User's details. Click the Remove button.
